More Responsive Templates

This month we have upgraded many more of our old templates to be all new responsive templates, wide on big screens, just right on small screens, and fast and beautiful on the smallest of mobile screens. These are available under the dedicated "Responsive" tab.

Our responsive templates can be customised by you:

System Updates

Drag and Drop Snippets Update

Drag and drop editor snippets for newsletters have been updated to display better in a broader range of email clients. The snippets have been ordered on the right, such that the ones at the top are most likely to display correctly in all email clients, where as the more complicated snippets lower, should be used with caution. The simple left/right aligned images will display better now, with any excess text wrapping around the image, and smaller images remaining their original size.

If you want a really complex graphical layout in your newsletters, then you are best to generate a larger image using a image editing program, then inserting the image full width into the newsletter. If you dedicate one image per call to action, then you can link each image to your desired landing page.

NZ Post eSHip

Development of NZ Post eShip integration with our shopping cart is roaring ahead. Stay tuned for when you can more easily print your labels through NZ Post courier channels. 

Address Auto Completion Localisation

If your target audience is only domestic customers, you can now target the google powered address auto completion feature to only show addresses from your own country. Please ensure you have set your country on your contact details page, then in the page options tab of your shopping cart, change the address auto completion option to Google API Local.

New Style Editor

We have added a brand new way to edit specific elements of your website. Via the styles, colours or fonts area, you can find a link to our new beta testing of our Style Editor. The editor has all the element targets preset, so all you have to do is pick an element to edit, then decide how you want to style it.... eg how big, what colour, what font, borders, shadowing, alignment, etc

Clearing your Browser Cache and Publishing

Caching speeds up your computer, but it also causes confusion when viewing changes to your website.  Every web master needs to become familiar with this concept. Almost a third of all our support tickets relate to mis understandings about caching. We can't change the nature of the internet, we only educate.

  • Pressing publish button is neccesary even before you go live. Pressing the publish button allows you to navigate your trial website. When you navigate your trial website, you are actually navigating the published pages in many cases. Only the first page to preview in preview mode usually shows your recent changes. 
  • Your web browser is not aware that you are currently editing your website. The web browser does not undersstand any connection between our website builder CMS, and your website with a completely different URL. You typically need to press REFRESH on your browser to see recent updates. Or you may even need to clear your browser cache.
